Trips & Transfers is the only shuttle service based in the Nelson Lakes. We’ll get you there and back in a day with time to hike the Mt Robert Circuit or around the Lake!

Vehicle & driver charge : NZD120.00 pp return to St Arnaud / $25.00pp supplement with drop off & pick up at Mt Robert Carpark. Can be paid cash to driver on the day.
Operates Every Thursday & Monday from 1 January 2024 to 22 February 2024. ( and Saturdays if sufficient demand)

Hidden Gems of the Nelson Lakes

St Arnaud. In the middle of nowhere but on the road to everywhere. Discover the Nelson Lakes with a local and enjoy the charms that are special for St Arnaud and the region.

10.00am. Start your day meeting your ‘local’ driver /guide at your accommodation.

The St Arnaud community has around 250 permanent residents. Many of them have a strong connection to the village's history and are committed to preserving the area's natural beauty through conservation efforts. The population slightly increases during the summer and winter seasons because of holiday homes. Nevertheless, peace and tranquility are always guaranteed here.

Spend a leisurely day exploring local businesses and listening to storytellers. Take a one-hour guided walk through the beautiful beech forests. Enjoy a lunch break where you'll hear fascinating stories about the area's history. Then, we'll drive to a viewpoint to see the lake from a different angle.

Extend your tour with a 40 min helicopter flight over the Nelson Lakes where you will get spectacular views of the lakes, including the world famous Blue Lake, tarns and rivers in the National Park. The Blue Lake/ Rotomariewhenua really is the Hidden Gem of the Nelson Lakes region. Hiking 4-5 days is the only other way to experience the Blue Lake.
